30 Day Challenge - Day 30

Day 30 - One thing you're excited for

Dare I say, the end of this challenge.  I have a new found respect for people who blog everyday.  How do you do it???  I had to pre-write many of the posts to publish on the appropriate days because, lately, after staring at a computer all day, I have writers block!

Thanks for sticking with me.  I appreciate it!

30 Day Challenge - Day 28

Day 28 - Somewhere you'd like to move to or visit

The list is long and wide of where I want to visit.  Now, where I would like to move to is pretty short and involves beaches.

Where I want to visit:  Panama, Austraila, New Zealand, Hawaii, Switzerland, Malaysia, Thailand, Canada, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Los Angelos, California, Fiji, Hong Kong, Eqypt, Africa...to name a few

Where I want to move to: a beautiful beach with crystal clear blue waters and all major conveniences and not in a hurricane path.

30 Day Challenge - Day 27

Day 27 - A quote you try to live by

There are so many quotes that I love and try to incorporate into my life. But there is one that has been with me the longest.  I learned it at Vacation Bible school when I was a young girl.  Us kids had to memorize a Bibile verse and then recite it. This is the verse that I recited.  I guess most people call it a scripture but it sums up what I want from my life - to increase in wisdom and stature (age). As well as to be liked, not only by others but by the Most High.

Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people. ~ Luke 2:52 (New Living Transalation)

Day 26 - Things you like and dislike about yourself

I like that I am...
  • aging gracefully
  • kind
  • considerate
  • calm, cool, and collected
  • honest with myself
  • learning how to become more of myself
I dislike that I am...
  • a procrastinator
  • stubborn (or so I'm told)
  • shy
  • design (home) challenged
  • afraid to screw up
  • a worrier (is that a word??)

30 Day Challenge - Day 25

Day 25 Something you're currently worrying about

I worry that the next generation won't grow up and have clean air or water.

Gone Too Soon - Michael J. Jackson

Two years ago on this month and day, my beloved Michael Jackson passed away. It still breaks my heart.

Rest In Paradise, Michael Joseph Jackson.

*For some reason I thought I published this post on Saturday. Oh, well.

30 Day Challenge - Day 24

Day 24 - Five words/phrases that make you laugh

The words/phrases that make me laugh are ever changing so here are my current LOL words/phrases:
  1. "Look at you, looking like you looking."  Mr. Brown on Meet the Browns
  2. "You know..that I know...that the streets are talking".  Lead Det. Caroline Mason on The First 48
  3. "You lay it low and spread it wide."  Evelyn Braxton on Braxton Family Values
  4. "You can be a pencil or you can be a pen." Traci Braxton on Braxton Family Values
  5. "You're not the boss of me." My niece, to her older sister when she was about 5.
LMBO just thinking of these phrases...and yes I watch too much TV!

30 Day Challenge - Day 23

Day 23 - Something that you miss

For me, the something is really the someone that I miss.  I miss my Aunt M.  When she passed away, it was like someone took a piece of my heart.  She was one of the sweetest people I have ever known.  I miss her terribly.

*I, also, miss my beloved Michael J. Jackson but that's another post!

30 Day Challenge - Day 22

Day 22 - Your academics

I am a college graduate. I, also, like to take online, community, and seminar-type classes about things that interest me.

I have been tempted to go to graduate school but I really don't want the stress.  LOL.

Happy. Healthy. Wealthy. Wise.

30 Day Challenge - Day 20

Day 20 - Your fears

My biggest fear is to not figure out my life purpose.  I feel as though I haven't found it yet.

What about you?  Do you feel you have found your life purpose?

30 Day Challenge - Day 19

Day 19 - Five items you lust after

I truly can't think of anything....there are things that I would like to have but I don't consider that lusting after them.  If I really wanted them, I could purchase them.  Obviously, I don't need these things that I want since I can't justify (or make myself) go and purchase them. (I hope that made sense...LOL.)

30 Day Challenge - Day 18

Day 18 - A problem that you have had

Procrastination is a major problem for me.  I wish I could overcome it.  As previously stated, I am a Libra and procrastination is a major problem for Libras.

Does anyone know of a herbal formulation that will eradicate procrastination?!?

30 Day Challenge - Day 17

Day 17 - Something you're proud of

I am proud of my family.  I have a great, supportive family.  We fuss but always have each other's back!

30 Day Challenge - Day 16

Day 16 - Something you always think "what if..." about

What if I won the lottery...what would I do?  Would I travel the world or would I buy an island and move all my family and friends there?  Would I not tell anyone and just continue with life as it is (of course, I would pay off the mortgage!)?

Dont. Judge. Me.  You know you fanasize about winning the lottery, too!

30 Day Challenge - Day 15

Day 15 - Your Zodiac/horoscope and if you think it fits your personality

I am a Libra. Libras believe in fairness and need balance.  Also, we tend to be procrastinators and are flirty.  I would say that pretty much sums it up!

30 Day Challenge - Day 12

Day 12 - Five guys whom you find attractive

I refuse to answer this question on the grounds it may incriminate me. Some things should just remain private.

30 Day Challenge - Day 9

Day 9 - How important is education to you

Education is very important to me. I believe that you should learn something each day. And the internet has made this very easy. You can download university classes on Itunes. You can check out books from the library.

Never overlook the opportunity to learn something.

*My apologies for not posting this on yesterday, I was ill.

30 Day Challenge - Day 7

Day 7 - Five Pet Peeves

These are not in any particular order.

1) People who make loud bodily noises. Burps, Farts, etc.

2) Children with runny noses (that haven't been or aren't being tended to). Do I really need to explain???

3) Traffic. I don't like traffic jams or heavy traffic. I will go out of my way so that I don't hit traffic.

4) Whistling inside. Whistling inside is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Please note that I have no problem with whisling outside.

5) Blantant rudeness. Politeness goes a long way with me. I don't know why being polite and cordial is so darn hard for some.

30 Day Challenge - Day 6

Day 6: Your views on mainstream music

Today's mainstream music is not as good as the music from the 60s to the 90s. I find myself listening to my Ipod or searching You Tube for old music most of the time. Now, there are still some good artists out there but a great deal of the music sounds the same. And don't get me started about the actual vocal abilities of some of these mainstream artists.

I'll just continue to listen to my favorites (Michael, Mariah, Prince, Diana, Aretha and other old school artists!) on my Ipod!

30 Day Challenge - Days 1-5

30 Day Challenge
Day 1: Five ways to win your heart Anyone who wins my heart has to first have the 5 basics: Trust, Love, Honor, Respect and Trustworthiness. I believe these are the basics for a healthy relationship. How do I know if he has these 5 basics?? Thanks for asking.
  1. He will have good relationships with his (and my) family.
  2. He will be a leader either at work, at home, or in the community.
  3. He will be a great communicator. He knows what to say when AND he is a great listener
  4. He tells and seeks the truth. Even if it hurts. He is a man of his word.
  5. He has goals and a plan to accomplish them. And he wants (and motivates) me to do the same.

Day 2: Something you feel strongly about

I feel strongly about world peace. There is entirely too much descension in the world. Why does war and violence have to be the answer to disagreements. Why can't we just agree to disagree!?! Why can't we just love each other...good, bad, and indifferent (or different)?!?#thatisall

Day 3: A book you love: I love many books. There is not just one. I don't want to choose either. I could be here all night! NEXT!!!!

Day 4: Bullet your whole day Sleep, Take phone call, make smoothie,, doze off, catch up on email and Google Reader, take nap, make smoothie, take phone call, watch tv (or TV watched me), sleep
Disclaimer: I wasn't feeling well on Saturday...I was trying to push through but wasn't doing a good job. sigh

Day 5: Things you want to say to an ex:
I have nothing to say to an ex that I haven't said already. I allow bygones to be bygones. I take whatever lessons I learned and keep moving forward. I hope that doesn't sound harsh. Well, que sera, sera.

Time Flies

I can't believe it has been almost two years since I wrote anything on this blog. I guess the road is paved with good intentions. LOL.

Well, I read MsFullroller's post about participating in a 30 Day Challenge so I have decided to join. If only to get myself on the wagon of blogging consistently (or more than just once - LOL). Below is what I will be blogging about:

Now, the other participants started on June 1st; MsFullroller started on June 5th. I am going to do one post with June 1st - June 5th. So I can be up to date. Wish me luck!!!
